Quality Control Golden Valley Foods is committed to providing quality products that meet or exceed our customer's expectations. Our fully qualified staff is totally cognisant of the importance of food safety and are very proud of our products.

Our Shell Egg Plant employs state-of-the-art Diamond 8400 egg grader that washes, inspects, and sorts all the eggs that come into the plant. About 10 million eggs a week are inspected one at a time, at a speed of 40 eggs per second. These speeds would be impossible with just human labour being used, but our machine, using an array of computers, works tirelessly to ensure that our products are just right. From computer vision to sonic crack detectors, the science of egg grading has come a long way in the last 20 years! But all this technology is not enough. We have a full contingent of employees to ensure that everything runs smoothly, and of course, correctly. Preventative maintenance programs, wash temperature logging and quality audits are just some of the systems that we use to keep the products we make top quality.

Having a "world class" Quality Control department is critical to any operation, but our strength is really in our people. All employees are well trained in their positions and have a good understanding of how they affect our final product.
